----------

I have been reading mostly manga this past week, which is awesome, but I need to get to reading some novels as well. Been a pretty slow (kind of) week. School is on break until January (awesome!) and Christmas is coming up (more awesome!). It’s nice having a break for the moment.
Here’s what I’m reading right now (for the first time, I know):
Cover on my copy.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Genre: Classic. Romance, Historical.
Publisher: Penguin (That’s my copy, at least. It’s a classic, though, so there are a ton of different editions from different companies out there.) (Also, even though that is the cover on my copy of the book, there are some much better ones out there. Including this one and this one, to link a few.)

Goodreads Synopsis:

When Elizabeth Bennet first meets eligible bachelor Fitzwilliam Darcy, she thinks him arrogant and conceited; he is indifferent to her good looks and lively mind. When she later discovers that Darcy has involved himself in the troubled relationship between his friend Bingley and her beloved sister Jane, she is determined to dislike him more than ever. In the sparkling comedy of manners that follows, Jane Austen shows the folly of judging by first impressions and superbly evokes the friendships, gossip and snobberies of provincial middle-class life

Excerpts:

“’I may thank you, Eliza, for this piece of civility. Mr. Darcy would never have come so soon to wait upon me.’” (Paperback, pg. 166)

“’My eldest sister has been in town these three months. Have you never happened to see her there?’
She was perfectly sensible that he never had; but she wished to see whether he would betray any consciousness of what had passed between the Bingleys and Jane; and she thought he looked a little confused as he answered that he had never been so fortunate as to meet Miss Bennet.” (Paperback, pg. 167)

I’m sure some of you remember reading this, but maybe it’s caught the attention of some who haven’t? Either way, I’m almost done, and am enjoying it for the most part.
What are you reading right now, though?

Right now, I am having a big sense of how-can-i-read-anything-else-right-now,-after-what-i-just-finished. And this is the second time I’ve felt this way in, um, two weeks. Which is really weird, because I haven’t felt like that in quite a while. It’s kind of nice, but at the same time, a bit frustrating. Because, after I finished those books, I really wanted more, more of those stories and characters, maybe more to know what happens next. But I also have a bunch of other books to read that I really want to read, so I don’t want to take a break. So, instead of doing that, I’m starting another book while still fangirling over the one I just finished. And, trust me, there’s a lot of fangirling happening.
Anyway, here’s what I’m currently reading (and am very excited for):
Endlessly (Paranormalcy, #3) by Kiersten White
Publisher: HarperCollins/HarperTeen

Goodreads Synopsis:

Evie's paranormal past keeps coming back to haunt her. A new director at the International Paranormal Containment Agency wants to drag her back to headquarters. The Dark Faerie Queen is torturing humans in her poisonous realm. And supernatural creatures keep insisting that Evie is the only one who can save them from a mysterious, perilous fate.

The clock is ticking on the entire paranormal world. And its fate rests solely in Evie's hands.

So much for normal.

Excerpt:

“’Have you no loyalty?’
‘I do. I am loyal to myself and I am loyal to what Evelyn should become.’” (Hardback, pg. 246)

“’I’m not doing anything—anything—until one of you figures out how to fix Lend.” (Hardback, pg. 247)

---------------
Warning: You maybe shouldn't read this unless you've read the five previous books in this series, at least if you care about spoilers, because there might be some in here.
I have been reading kind of slowly the last week, but I plan to go a bit faster this week. Also, I got quite a bit reviewing done over the weekend, which made me feel productive. Not too much else has been going on with me, though. Just been going to classes; haven’t had too much homework yet, at least not as much as I’d suspected I’d have, but who knows how long that’ll last. Oh, and I ordered some new books the other day, ones that came out a while ago and that I really want but had been putting off buying; now, I’m very excited to finally get to read them.
Here’s what I’m reading right now (which I am almost done with, and is really good so far):
Publisher: Harlequin Teen

Goodreads Synopsis:

I died on a Thursday—killed by a monster intent on stealing my soul. The good news? He didn't get it.

The bad news? Turns out not even death will get you out of high school…

Covering up her own murder was one thing, but faking life is much harder than Kaylee Cavanaugh expected. After weeks spent "recovering," she's back in school, fighting to stay visible to the human world, struggling to fit in with her friends and planning time alone with her new reaper boyfriend.

But to earn her keep in the human world, Kaylee must reclaim stolen souls, and when her first assignment brings her face-to-face with an old foe, she knows the game has changed. Her immortal status won't keep her safe. And this time Kaylee isn't just gambling with her own life….

Excerpts:

“’Death itself would wait for you, Kaylee…’” (Paperback, pg. 164)

“I was stirring green peas into my mashed potatoes, poking the lumpy concoction aimlessly, when Emma kicked me beneath the table. Or rather, she tried, but her foot went right through my leg and hit the bottom of the bench instead. And that’s when I realized I was fading out again.” (Paperback, pg. 164)
