Review:

I've missed most of this series by this point, and I'm starting to want to go back and catch up. This volume had me really curious what happened before this—because apparently Benio lost her powers? Which, what?--and now I also really want to read the next one, to see what happens next.
So, Rokuro is on the island now, after all his training, and he's determined to do what he has to, to defeat Yuto. Only he's not one of the main families, so he's not all that important to them—plus, Benio's family has been pretty much banished after what happened when she was a kid, so his acquaintance with her doesn't help him any. Not to mention that he's on such a lower level than the other exorcists here, it's almost ridiculous.
In the middle of the volume, we get a little history lesson, as Rokuro learns what really happened to create these creatures and why there are exorcists now. It's surprisingly interesting, and is one point that really caught my attention. I almost want to read to the end now just to see how that wraps up.
This is a series that I'm upset I'm missing, so maybe I should change that.

A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much!

  1. I need to catch up on this series too! I loved the first couple of volumes, so it's nice to see that the series is staying interesting. Have you heard of Ultimate Outcast? It's another manga series that I've been reading recently that focuses on a guy who becomes the target of bullies after he transfers to a new school. He tolerates their abuse until they target his best friend and assault her. After he's unable to stop them, he vows to get revenge for her and starts looking for someone to train him to fight. He ends up finding a really unusual master and because of his unique training methods, the mc gets really op and is able to carry out his desire for revenge. I also really like the mc because while he was initially driven by a desire for revenge, he uses his new strength to actually help others and protect people weaker than him. If you're interested in picking up any more action series, I highly recommend checking it out.
