Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish
meme, hosted by MizB of Should
Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

------------
I actually read full length books this week; several of
them, even! I feel productive. And I actually started Pride and Prejudice, which I hope to finish by the end of the year.
I also have to sell back my textbooks today and I have my last final tomorrow
(Wednesday). And you know what that means? That as soon as I get home on
Wednesday, I will be done with school until next semester starts, which isn’t
until, like, the first week of January (well, except for when I have to go
online and register for next semesters classes, but that’s beside the point).
Which means I have about a month off! YES! THAT IS SO EXCITING! I AM EXCITED.
YES. (I felt that I needed another one in caps, to show how truly excited I am.
Because, NO SCHOOL!)
I have already reached my goal of a hundred novels for
the year, which is very exciting, and I plan to read a ton of more books over
the vacation. Also, you know, Christmas shopping and book shopping and, um,
blog posts to do. Yay.
Here’s what I’m reading right now (I thought of doing a
different book for this, seeing as I did the first in the series last week, but
then thought, why the hell not?):
Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie
Genre: YA Dystopian Romance
Publisher: Penguin (Dutton)
Goodreads Synopsis:
In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky — taken by the Society to his certain death — only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.
Cassia’s quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander — who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia’s heart — change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.
Excerpt:
“’The original Anomalies chose to be Anomalies, back when the Society came to be,’ I tell Eli.” (Hardback, pg. 120)
“’You think they’ll try to kill us?’ Eli asks, sounding worried.‘They used to be merciless to any one Society,’ I say. ‘But we’re not Society anymore.’” (Hardback, pg. 120-121)
Ohh, sounds exciting (maybe not if you haven’t read the
first one)!
So, what are you reading right now?
